Contemporary House in Marbella

In a privileged corner of the Costa del Sol and surrounded by kilometres of Mediterranean sandy beach, villas and golf courses you will find this residence of geometric shapes and contemporary style that we had the opportunity to decorate a few months ago. The owners were looking for a house that reflected their love for art, collectibles and contemporary lines.

The entrance of the house is flanked by two geometrically shaped steel planters that mix their contemporary lines with those of the residence.

In the hall we find a console table made of steel with a glass top that combines perfectly with the contemporary staircase topped with a steel handrail. The graphic work on the walls are methacrylate photographs of some of the owners' favourite beaches and the glass pieces are handcrafted by the Guadarte glass factory..

The dining room is divided into two spaces that maintain their functionality and personality without invading itselves and that respect the style and materials used by the architectural studio in the project..

The dining table is decorated with a collection of bottles from the 70 's that the owner bought in El Rastro in Madrid and the carved wooden cup is a piece that they bought at an antiques dealer in Antwerp.

The dining table is made of oak and steel, It is part of the Guardarte Contemporary Furniture Collection and contrasts with the pair of black glazed ceramic mirrors.

A large chaise longue sofa of over 3 metres upholstered with natural linen fibers is the center of the living room. This fabric provides freshness and comfort due to its softness and gives a very natural appearance that recalls the simple and elegant lifestyle of the Costa del Sol..

The owners are lovers of photography and decoration, and they have managed to combine their hobbies with the most up to date trends that we find in textile manufacturers.

The marble sculpture is a piece acquired at the Paris Flea Market and reflects the couple's love for art.. They wanted some corners of the house to function as a museum where they could display some of the pieces from their personal collection.

A large black mirror flanked by crystal obelisks, gives access to the corridor that leads to the other rooms of the house.

In the office we find the desk with a glass top on which is the collection of magazines from the 70. 's. Metal mesh chairs combine design and craftsmanship. Everything from the Ivory Collection of Guardarte.

The main room is furnished with a tufted headboard upholstered in metallic eco leather, that combines with the metallic elements used in the decoration.

The contemporary style "Nube" colour lacquered bedside tables serve as a platform for the original antique lamps that the owners use as a bedside table lamp..

Every corner of this house is a small museum of contemporary art and collectibles, so that the geometric and modern lines of the house are balanced with the charm of each of these pieces.

The reading chair located in front of the bedroom window, is upholstered in an aubergine brocade that contrasts with the thick linen curtains that close the room. The stone obelisk, It is an original piece acquired in a London antique dealer.

From the terrace you can enjoy the pleasant climate of the Costa del Sol and the panoramic views of the landscape , which at certain times of the day offers spectacular images.

To decorate the pool, ceramic pieces glazed in shades of blue and turquoise have been used. The iron chair and the stone side table are part of the Guadarte Outdoor Collection.

Mural Inspiration

Hand-painted ceramic murals represent a centuries-old decorating technique, far from going out of style, it has become a hallmark of our Mediterranean culture. Medallions, landscapes, "celebrities", emblems .... The options are as endless as our imagination and this month we want to propose some ideas that may be useful for your terrace and garden projects.

AESTHETIC CONTINUITY
In the image we can see a splendid idea. The tile panel represents a wrought iron gate, that aesthetically goes very well with the wrought iron furniture and the railing of the same material that we have on the terrace. Take an element of your project and give it continuity with the design of the wall panel.

INTERIOR NATURE
We see another good suggestion in this project. This inner courtyard has been decorated with a panel of birds, which transports us abroad. It is a way to play with the subconscious, the use of greenery and animal-inspired decorative elements makes you feel like you are outdoors even though you are actually in an indoor patio.

FACADES FULL OF ART
The tile panel does not have to be only a small portrait framed on the wall of a terrace or patio, , it can take an extreme role, as seen on the photo. In the Iberian Peninsula it is very common to see churches and institutional buildings that have been decorated with hand-painted tiles.. In Guadarte we can decorate the facade of your hotel, restaurant, rural house ... taking that idea and adapting our or your own designs to your space.

CHARMING CORNERS
Another option is to create a charming corner with a tile panel that is not excessively large., but that is significant. In order to do so, it could be interesting to think about the name of the street, the history of the place, the iconicity of the project… Surely all these elements help us to choose the best design for our panel.

TILE PANELS WITH A FOUNTAIN
If you want take really take advantage of every inch of your panel, We propose you this idea in which the panel is converted into a colossal fountain that transforms that area of the garden into a memorable corner.

MULTICOLOURED PANELS
Panel can be a mix of shades of blue, green, ocher ... but what if we mix all the colours in the palette and instead of a two-colour panel we develop a multicoloured one? The result is a design full of life that will not leave anyone indifferent..

We hope you liked our ideas and comments and that they are helpful for your next projects., and remember that Guardarte can make any tile panel in any size and in any colour.

Casadecor 2021

The decorator Elena Jori has designed the space that bears the name of her firm: Singular Living – Reception «Long Island: summer of 1922». A setting inspired by the Great Gatsby's Mansion on Long Island, New York, and the glamour, fun and debauchery of the summer of 1922, described in the novel by Francis Scott Fitzgerald.

GEOMETRIC TRENDS
The New Classic that is a trend in the reforms and interior design of the regal houses of Madrid of the beginning of the 20th century, and the "maximalism" in the search for welcoming and unique atmospheres, loaded with character and personality. The ceramic planter decorated with a pattern of geometric lines is the perfect complement to this space..

CLASSIC ARCHITECTURE
Here moldings and marquetry on ceilings and walls stand out. Geometric shapes on wallpaper and carpet. Vegetal Art Deco elements and the Chippendale style bamboo imitation armchairs in black lacquer.

NATURE AND ELEGANCE
The large kentias have an important role thanks to the contrast with the geometric pots that carry them. The wrought iron table stands out with a black marble top decorated with an elegant floral centre.

CLASSIC SCULPTURES
This stately environment greatly appreciates elements such as the classic bust sculpture located on a black lacquered pedestal that enhances and magnifies the room..

LILIES AND MARBLE
The purity and elegance of pink lilies contribute to the elegance of this ambient. In the image you can see the beautiful natural white lines on the black marble stone.

CHIPPENDALE BAMBOO ARMCHAIRS
In classic-inspired decoration projects, it is always a good idea to have elements that have become decoration “standards”. For example, the imitation Bamboo armchairs lacquered in black and upholstered in burgundy velvet.

ELENA JORI, SINGULAR LIVING
We can only congratulate the decorator Elena Jori for her excellent work and criteria when combining different pieces to create interiors in which it seems that each piece has been designed specifically for that space.. Thank you for relying on our products!
Thanks also to Casadecor for the excellent initiative that reaches its 56th edition and which is an excellent platform for trends and professionals in the sector..

Villa in Andalusia

This time, we want to share with you the project of a sunny Villa in southern Spain. Traditional architecture, a style full of elegance and a feeling of being at home that has made us fall in love.

EXTERIOR VIEW OF THE VILLA
The house has several terraces and incredible views of the pool. The symmetry and proportions of the spaces make this house look majestic by the warmth of the sunset.

MAIN ENTRANCE
The entrance to the Villa is flanked by two columns, taking inspiration from classic porches. The tartessian star-shaped fountain is a very frequent symbol in Andalusian culture.

A VERY NATURAL CLASSIC
The living room is decorated in neutral tones and with classic-style furniture.. Both, the fabrics and the furniture finishes give the project a very natural look, that combines very well with the large windows and its wooden carpentry.

NATURAL LIGHT IN EVERY CORNER
If there is something that stands out in this project , It is the natural light that reaches every corner of the house. The large semi-circular windows have been a good choice. The table lamps give symmetry to the space and the continuity of the side tables with the coffee table.

COTTON, PATINA AND JUTE
The natural trend of the house continues in the dining room. The natural cotton fabric on the chairs, the jute rug and the grey finished table are a good example of how materials in natural finishes always go well together.

DETAILS OF THE DINING TABLE
The trivets, the dishes, the cutlery ... Every detail is taken care of in this project and every detail is respectful of the essence of the whole . As Leonardo da Vincci used to say: "Perfection is not a detail, but the details are perfection ".

THE PATIO GALLERY
In this image the protagonism is taken by the three large exits to the patio that fill the corridor with light. Nevertheless, on the opposite wall the wall sconces are strategically placed to warmly illuminate the hallway when the night falls.

TERRACE OF WROUGHT IRON AND RATTAN
The terraces have been decorated with wrought iron and rattan furniture, which are materials that maintain the essence of the project, This is the result of using traditional elements that work well together.

FRENCH INSPIRED SUITE
Although the house maintains a marked traditional Andalusian look, French inspiration can be seen in more than one detail. For example, in this Louis XVI style armchair with its matching puff.

We hope that this project has been to your liking and that it helps you to explore the possibilities offered by our extensive product catalogue. See you!

Mediterranean terraces “Made in Guadarte”

This month we want to share with you some terraces of projects we have collaborated with lately. It is a good season to take inspiration and unleash our creativity in residential or commercial projects.. We hope you like it!

THE BEST TERRACE IN ROME
The terrace of the Hotel 9 Cesari in Rome, has a perfect location with privileged views. The wrought iron stools, the sofas and armchairs of our Outdoor Collection fit perfectly with the style and history of this emblematic place.

CONTEMPORARY GEOMETRY
Traditional forging takes on a whole new air when painted in contemporary shades. An excellent option is matte black. If you want to renew your terrace and give it a contemporary air, without a doubt this tone is the best choice.

PLANTS FULL OF LIFE
Plants bring life to any environment in which they are found. The terraces are ideal places for this purpose. Think about the combination or contrast between the color of the pot with that of the plant itself and be intentional when making these decisions.

MOSAIC & FABRIC
Wrought iron sofas, are traditionally upholstered in plain or striped canvas. But if you want them to stand out, it's a good idea to look for an outdoor fabric that has a contemporary design. Also if you manage to create a contrast, (for example with the green glazed pots in the image) you will get a greater visual impact.

GEOMETRIC POTS
Our collection of geometric planters is having great success in outdoor projects. The wide variety of sizes, designs and colours allow designers to unleash their creativity and make projects with a unique signature. Discover all the options in the "Ceramics" section of our website.

SMALL TERRACES WITH GREAT VIEWS
Sometimes the smallest terraces have the greatest views. We recommend you take advantage of those places and locate the furniture so that when sitting, we can enjoy the best views naturally.

MEDITERRANEAN SYMMETRY
You have two options, make a collage with different sizes and colors or use the same model continuously. For the first option you have to have a certain artistic sensibility, So if you don't want to make a mistake, we recommend that you use a model that you love with the same plant and repeat it symmetrically..

ANDALUSIAN STYLE NIGHT
From the terrace of the Hotel Vincci La Rábida, you can enjoy the view of the Sevillian night. Both the iron of the furniture and that of the railings and windows have been finished in the same tone to create a visual continuity of the architecture with the decoration.

MAGISTRAL LIGHTING
The exteriors of the Hotel Le Mirage, are magical when the night falls. The ceramic lamps glazed in white provide a soft light that creates a unique atmosphere, that catches the visitor's attention.

CHARMING TERRACE
In this case, our indoor products move outside. If you have a windowed terrace or well protected by a porch, it is a great idea to use wooden furniture in a “French countryside” style. You will create a very refined and cozy atmosphere.

MEDITERRANEAN STYLE
Obviously, we love the mediterranean style! That mix of native vegetation, with natural wood and whitewashed walls is simply wonderful. Our entire collection of wall lamps, can be painted in the same tone so that the lighting looks like an extension of the architecture.

CONTEMPORARY CONTRAST
Wrought iron roducts can adopt different finishes that completely transform the ambiences. For example, Here the contrast between the strawberry colour of the upholstery and the contemporary black of the furniture, creates a very modern and cosmopolitan terrace. If you used the same product with an off-white finish and striped fabric, you would have a totally different atmosphere. What else can you imagine?

ANDALUSIAN PATIO
In this project, the traditional Andalusian Patio has been taken as inspiration. It is a common space in the center of the building, that brings light and vitality to the project. The wrought iron furniture intertwines with the Arabic-inspired architecture and the vegetation in a very natural way..

TERRACE AT THE POOL
There is nothing more pleasant in summer than eating near the coolness of the water. It is a good idea to set up a dining area near the pool. If you have a porch, don't even think about it. And if you like the chairs on the image, we have them available in a lot of colours.

PORCHES ON A LARGE SCALE
There are terraces and porches whose proportions are delightful. In this case, the possibility of combining wrought iron furniture with ceiling lanterns and incredible views, makes everything very simple. If you have a project like this the rule is easy: Large proportions, great products.

We hope these ideas and suggestions give you enough perspective and inspiration for your next terrace projects., courtyards and gardens. See you!

In every corner of the Marbella Club Hotel we can find handmade ceramic pieces. From elegant glasses with classic design to polychrome flower pots with traditional designs.

THE LIGHT, PROTAGONIST OF THIS STORY

Definitely, this project has something that makes it unique. The natural light of its location makes every corner shine with its own light. The views from this terrace to the enclosure blend with the blue of the sky that can be seen in the background.

PRIVATE VILLAS AND UNIQUE RESIDENCES

In this oasis you can enjoy private corners like the one in the image, that have been decorated with the same care and care as the public areas of the resort. Flowers, the furniture, the lighting ... every detail is exquisitely cared for in this project.

Inspiring mural ideas

This month we want to share with you some inspiring ideas based on our hand-painted ceramic murals. Traditionally this type of mural is used outdoors, porches, patios ... But do you know that you can adapt their measurements, designs and colors to your liking? So the possibilities multiply. Why not also use them indoors?

MURAL OF BLUE TONES ON BLUE BACKGROUND

We love this color combination where we take the background wall color as our basis. That makes the mural perfectly integrate with the contemporary living room that together with the plants and natural light, bring light from the outside to the inside.

PINK TO POWER

The pink tones fit well with the murals painted in earth tones. In this room, the portrait of María Antoñeta is the epicenter of decoration. Find your own epicenter with this or another design!

FANTASY OF BIRDS AND BIRDS

The drawings of birds and birds add an almost magical element to the environment that plays with the color contrasts between the upholstery and the walls. The mural fits perfectly in this game of colors and designs.

HALF SEPARATION WALL

In this idea, there is a half wall clad in a custom tile mural combined with another wall made of natural wood slats, that match the employees on the kitchen ceiling. The result is a spacious and bright environment that works as a frame for the mural..

GRAY TONES MURAL

For more sophisticated environments we suggest using gray tones, that are less happy, but more elegant. The design of this wrought iron door is illuminated from the ceiling by the warm light bulbs placed for this purpose..

WALL SERIES

Another good idea is to take the same size of mural and repeat it three times., but with slightly varied motifs or designs. For example, In this environment, the blue tone of the background and the images of the ladies in different situations have been taken as a reference. The result is a repetition of three vertical murals that give the feeling of a horizontal mural..

CEMENT AND CLASSIC SYMBOLISM

The elements as mythological beings, glasses, ornamental motifs ... they look great in gray tones and are ideal for decorating environments in which the cement tone has been used on the floor or walls.

OF COURSE, FOR OUTDOOR

And lastly, we would like to remind you that you can obviously use our murals in your terrace and garden projects.. It's a simple way to add value to a large wall and you can even use landscape drawings, logos, characters ... for your designs. The only limit is your imagination.

From Russia in style

The designer Lada Kulakova conquered the owners of this house with her personal style of decoration that mixes textures, colours and styles. The result is a magnificent magazine house that is not only beautiful to photograph, but also to live it.

WAITING ROOM

The living room combines elements from our catalogue with original designs of the designer that fit perfectly.

PROJECTS WITH ART

To develop a great decoration project, it is always a good idea to accompany quality products with works of art. The picture, painted on silk, was bought in a Hong Kong antiques store.

FIREPLACE AREA

The decorator used a mirrored wall behind the fireplace that helps to reflect the light from the windows and gives a feeling of spaciousness to the space. The hand-forged iron lamp hangs from the ceiling as the main protagonist of the living room.

CRAFTSMANSHIP ALWAYS PRESENT

Craftsmanship is present in many details of this project. From the lamps made in the Guadarte workshops to this armchair bought by the owners in Bali.

LARGE DINING ROOM

The owners love to enjoy the company of friends and family, so an important part of the project was a large dining room. In this environment, two Guadarte lamps hang from the ceiling with decorative elements of handmade ceramics..

SHOWROOMS AND INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECTS

Another idea is to use it in showrooms, shows and congresses. Without a doubt, it is an attraction that will guarantee the attention of any visitor to the event.
